Instructions for Water Defrosting Evaporator
| | The air cooler (also known as evaporator) used in cold storage is specialized equipment for cooling Cold Rooms. It achieves heat exchange through forced air circulation to reduce the temperature inside the cold storage. Its core working principle is that a motor-driven fan draws in air, which then passes through cooling pipes (containing refrigerant), cools down, and is sent into the cold storage. Air coolers (evaporators) can be divided into three types: electric defrosting, water defrosting, and hot fluorine defrosting. The refrigeration capacity of an air cooler (evaporator) varies under different working conditions, depending on the inlet air temperature difference, refrigerant type, and air temperature inside the cold storage. |
YSHT Water Defrosting Air Cooler: Performance and Advantages
Working Principle
The YSHT water defrosting Air Cooler (evaporator) operates by absorbing heat from the surrounding environment as refrigerant flows through its heat exchange coils, thereby lowering the temperature in the cold room where the air cooler is installed. When frost accumulates on the coil surfaces and impairs heat exchange efficiency, the water defrost device automatically activates. A pressurized water flow quickly removes the frost layer, after which the fan delivers cooled air into the refrigerated space to maintain a stable low-temperature environment.
Types of YSHT Water Defrosting Air Cooler and Its Applications in Cold Storage
YSHT water defrosting Air cooler (evaporators) are paired with refrigeration compressor units for cooling various cold storage facilities. They are categorized into three types to match different temperature requirements:
| |
● High-temperature air coolers (L): Suitable for fresh-keeping cold storage at around 0°C. ● Medium-temperature air coolers (D): Suitable for refrigerated cold storage at around -18°C. ● Low-temperature air coolers (J): Suitable for quick-freezing cold storage below -25°C.

The YSHT water defrosting air cooler (evaporator) series are custom-designed for different refrigeration needs:
1.HT-LDS Series: Floor-stand water defrosting equipped with axial fans and air ducts. They deliver high air volume for superior cooling performance, making them ideal for medium to large freezers (e.g., meat freezers, aquatic product fresh-keeping warehouses).
2.HT-SD Series: Ceiling-mounted water defrostingusing external rotor motors, which operate with lower noise and high efficiency. They offer fast defrosting with low energy consumption.
Advantages of Water Defrost Air Coolers
Water defrosting (evaporators) are primarily used for defrosting in cold storage or Refrigeration Equipment. They melt frost with water spray and flush away the frost layer for rapid defrosting.
1.Efficient and Thorough Defrosting: Compared to traditional electric defrosting, water defrosttechnology removes frost in a shorter time, minimizing temperature fluctuations during defrosting. This ensures stable temperatures in refrigerated spaces, making it especially suitable for temperature-sensitive food storage.
2.Energy Efficiency: The water defrost process consumes less energy. It also reduces heat exchange inefficiencies caused by excessive frost, lowering the compressorload and significantly saving energy over long-term use
3.Minimal Temperature Fluctuations: The temperature rise in the cold storage during water defrosting is small, reducing product loss caused by temperature variations.
Precautions for Water Defrosting Air Cooler(Evaporator)
1. Water defrosting air cooler (evaporators)may increase humidity inside cold storage. When selecting the equipment, consider the external environment and the humidity sensitivity of stored goods. They generally perform better in dry environments.
2.Water defrosting air cooler (evaporators)typically requires an independent water supply system with clean water quality. Water with excessive impurities can cause corrosion and blockages in the system, significantly shortening the equipment’s service life.
3.Regular maintenance is necessary for water defrosting air cooler (evaporators), including pipe cleaning, to ensure efficient operation.
